The world is full of writing prompts
The world is full of writing prompts. Many of them are hidden in stories you already know. For instance, what did the boy who gave Jesus his basket of fish and loaves tell his mother happened to his lunch? What did the lovers on the beach tell their friends when Orville and Wilbur flew by that day? What did Goldilocks tell her mother when she got home?
There are lots of stories with characters on the side who have stories all of their own. The Robe is a whole book about one. Find your favorite story and find that character who stood on the side but got splattered by the plot. Tell his/her story.
I wish I had you as my English teacher! Or at least creative writing class! I REALLY like these prompts!
Thanks. If you remember that writers are very deliberate, you will see more in what you read:be it mystery or literary fiction. Then when you write, you will know how to put more in. Use your gifts!
Thanks for dropping by.
I have been so busy on two books that I have sadly neglected this blog. As I get closer to publication you will see more of me and more prompts.
Writing is hard work. Find a writers’ group near you and get involved. They will help you stay focused. A couple non-Covid deaths, a couple transfers, COVID (it’s not the same vibe on ZOOM), and success has decimated our group. We are just getting back to four each night.
Keep writing!
