Steve Prefontaine was an NCAA champion and Olympic long distance runner. Told he was too small to play high school football, he turned to cross country and found his gift. He rode a scholarship to run at the University of Oregon under coach Bill Bowerman who later founded Nike. He won four straight 5000 meter titles in college track and three cross country titles. He died in a car crash at age 24 but is still a legend in Eugene, Oregon.

When I went to U Oregon, the school had a horrible football team. Track was THE cool sport. Pre was already gone, but the name runner was Rudi Chapa. As a yearbook photographer, I was impressed by how smooth and fast the runners moved. You could feel their power as they flew by. Rudi and Pre had a gift and used it. Are you using yours?
