A Farmer Went Out To Sow
We are taught that we are to sow the seed of God, but the harvest is His responsibility. You may think your story will never do a thing for God but that is not YOUR problem. Make it the best you can and then put it out there. God will use it.
I was discouraged many times in my secular writers’ group. They loved the plot, balked at some of the faith, and missed all the symbolism. (How can you recognize a symbolic literary communion ceremony if you’ve never taken communion?)
But one day as I sat to write, fully discouraged that my book would NEVER be finished, much less published, it was revealed to me that EVEN IF I never got to print, I was witnessing to people who would otherwise never hear a Christian witness. I was discussing morality and faith with people who would otherwise never talk to someone with views like mine.
Your work needs another group of eyes anyway. Take it to a writers’ group and spread the seed. They may be the audience God wants you to address.
